Yuki Yuna is a Hero

About Yuki Yuna is a Hero

Yuki Yuna is a Hero (結城友奈は勇者である) blends action, drama and fantasy by Studio Gokumi (2014). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. At its core: Yuuna Yuuki is an average second-year middle school student. She gets up in the morning, gets ready for school, goes to classes, participates in club activities, and has fun with her friends.

Further in, there is one extraordinary thing about Yuuki — she belongs to the “Brave Hero Club.” What does the Brave Hero Club do? Who is the enigmatic being called “Vertex?” Yuuki Yuuna and her friends’ story takes place in Year 300, Era of the Gods.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Voice work is led by Haruka Terui as Yuuna Yuuki and Suzuko Mimori as Mimori Tougou. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. The run is 12 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.
