Upotte!! English Sub & Dub

About Upotte!!

Looking for background on Upotte!! (うぽって!!)? This action and comedy series by Xebec (2012) starts out like this. In short: Kiss kiss, bang bang! The arms race takes on a startling new development when the arms come with heads, legs and very feminine bodies attached!

Beyond that: Yes, at Seishou Academy every girl is literally a lethal weapon, and they're all gunning for the top shot at getting their own personal serviceman! Needless to say, it's going to be difficult for newly recruited human instructor Genkoku to adjust to working with a living arsenal of high caliber cuties with tricky names like FNC (Funko) M 16A4 (Ichiroku) L85A1 (Eru) and SG. Especially since many have hair triggers and there's no bulletproof vest that can stop a really determined coed!

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. FNC (Iori Nomizu) and M16A4 (Misuzu Togashi) are two of the characters you will meet early. This one is best suited to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. With 10 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Xebec is the studio behind Upotte!!, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Its 6.0/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. On the casting side, Iori Nomizu voicing FNC gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2012, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
