Koihime†Musou

About Koihime†Musou

Koihime†Musou (恋姫†無双) blends action, adventure and ecchi by Doga Kobo (2008). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. At its core: This anime is based on an eroge game by Baseson, which was loosely based on the classic Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Having lost her family to bandits during night raid, Kanu swears she will not let others share the same pain.

Further in, she rapidly grows into a well-known and feared by villains bandit hunter. During her adventure she comes across others who wish to join her cause. One of them is a girl RinRin, who had similar experience with bandits in the past.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Kanu Unchou (Nami Kurokawa) and Chouhi Yokutoku (Hiroka Nishizawa) are two of the characters you will meet early. It will appeal most to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. At 12 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Doga Kobo is the studio behind Koihime†Musou, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. Because it leans on action, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Its 6.3/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. Voice casting, including Nami Kurokawa as Kanu Unchou, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2008, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
