I''s

About I''s

I''s (フロム I"s アイズ 〜もうひとつの夏の物語〜) arrives as a drama anime by Studio Pierrot (2002), and the premise is easy to summarize. In short: Aiming to become a molding artist, Itsuki, a childhood friend of Ichitaka who went to America come back to Japan. Iori who refused the idol path and started to pursue her ambition to become an actress instead.

More of the story: Ichitaka, wandering on his bicycle alone, tries to decide his choice between the two persons.

In a drama series like this, character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. Voice work is led by Kumi Sakuma as Iori Yoshizuki and Takahiro Sakurai as Ichitaka Seto. If you count yourself among viewers who prefer story and feelings over flashy action, put it on your list. The run is 2 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Studio Pierrot is the studio behind I''s, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The drama focus matters here: character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. With a 5.5/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Kumi Sakuma as Iori Yoshizuki, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2002, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
