The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST

About The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST

Meet The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST (新妹魔王の契約者 BURST), an action, ecchi and fantasy anime by Production IMS (2015). Here is the premise in a nutshell. The setup: After two demon girls, Maria the succubus and Mio the demoness, force Basara into a contract that makes him their master, the trio form a complicated master-servant relationship. Basara is the last descendant of a demon-fighting hero clan, but as master of two demon girls, he comes across himself defending them instead of fighting them.

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Basara Toujou (Yuuichi Nakamura) and Mio Naruse (Ayaka Asai) are two of the characters you will meet early.

This one is best suited to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. The run is 10 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with Production IMS, which means the visual identity of The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST follows that studio's craft. Because it leans on action, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 6.4/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Yuuichi Nakamura as Basara Toujou, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2015, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
