Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei!

About Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei!

Here is what Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei! (Fate/kaleid linerプリズマ☆イリヤ ツヴァイ！) is about, retold in plain terms: an action, comedy and ecchi anime by SILVER LINK. (2014). In short: With great powers come great responsibilities, and that includes cleaning up the aftermath of your previous adventures. Which means that, instead of getting a break after saving the realm, newly changed magical girls Illya and Miyu have to help deal with the side-effects caused by the sealing of the Ley Cards.

Also worth knowing: Still, that shouldn't be too hard, right? Wrong! Not only are the ley lines failing, but to make matters worse, Illya somehow ends up with a magical clone… and that sinister clone has plans of her own! Worse yet, since the "dark" version of herself is drawing its strength from the same source as our heroine, Illya's own gifts are being reduced proportionately.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Shirou Emiya (Noriaki Sugiyama) and Rin Toosaka (Kana Ueda) are two of the characters you will meet early. It will appeal most to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. The run is 10 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

SILVER LINK. is the studio behind Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei!, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 6.9/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. On the casting side, Noriaki Sugiyama voicing Shirou Emiya gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2014, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
