BLACKFOX

About BLACKFOX

Meet BLACKFOX, an action and sci-fi anime by Studio 3Hz (2019). Here is the premise in a nutshell. What the story covers: Living in a ninja residence tucked away in a corner of a futuristic city is Rikka, the eldest daughter of a Ninja clan, who looks up to her father—a researcher—very much. Carrying on with her life normally, Rikka's home came all at once under attack one day.

Another thread: Driven into a corner, what would she do to overcome this crisis? Rip darkness to pieces and become "BLACK"!

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Rikka Isurugi (Ayaka Nanase) and Mia (Haruka Tomatsu) are two of the characters you will meet early. It will appeal most to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. At 1 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Studio 3Hz is the studio behind BLACKFOX, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. Because it leans on action, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 6.4/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. On the casting side, Ayaka Nanase voicing Rikka Isurugi gives the lead role a recognizable voice. It aired in 2019, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
