Bleach

About Bleach

Meet Bleach, an action, adventure and supernatural anime by Studio Pierrot (2004). Here is the premise in a nutshell. What the story covers: Ichigo Kurosaki is a rather normal high school learner apart from the fact he has the ability to see ghosts. This ability never impacted his life in a major way until the day he encounters the Shinigami Kuchiki Rukia, who saves him and his family's lives from a Hollow, a corrupt spirit that devours human souls.

Also worth knowing: Wounded during the fight against the Hollow, Rukia chooses the only option available to defeat the monster and passes her Shinigami abilities to Ichigo. Now forced to act as a substitute until Rukia recovers, Ichigo hunts down the Hollows that plague his town.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Ichigo Kurosaki (Masakazu Morita) and Rukia Kuchiki (Fumiko Orikasa) are two of the characters you will meet early. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. With 366 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Studio Pierrot is the studio behind Bleach, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. At 7.9/10 it earns a solid reception, a safe pick for fans of the genre. Voice casting, including Masakazu Morita as Ichigo Kurosaki, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. It aired in 2004, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
