RADIANT

About RADIANT

Here is what RADIANT (ラディアン) is about, retold in plain terms: an action, adventure and comedy anime by Lerche (2018). What the story covers: Seth dreams of being a great sorcerer. He wants to be powerful and defeat the Némésis, monsters that come down from the sky.

Soon after, his eagerness constantly gets him into trouble. He can’t seem to avoid angering the villagers and even his guardian, Alma. One day, an enormous Némésis really attacks the village!

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Narrator (Shou Hayami) and Seth (Yumiri Hanamori) are two of the characters you will meet early. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. At 21 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Lerche is the studio behind RADIANT, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. Because it leans on action, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Its 6.6/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. On the casting side, Shou Hayami voicing Narrator gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2018, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
