Needless

About Needless

If you are hunting for a new action series, Needless deserves a look (2009). The setup goes like this. At its core: The year is 2130 and the world has been decimated by a devastating third world war, making the planet a risky, apocalyptic hellhole. There is, however, one hope: Adam Blade, a fake priest with big fists and a nasty disposition.

From there, he's the closest thing this realm's got to a superhero, but like any superhero, he has a weakness. In Adam's case, it isn't Kryptonite; it's cuties in sexy little outfits, usually of the schoolgirl variety.

With action at the core, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Voice work is led by Aya Endou as Cruz Schild and Takehito Koyasu as Adam Blade. If you count yourself among viewers who like fast, high-impact fights, put it on your list. The run is 24 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.
