Hiatari Ryoukou!

About Hiatari Ryoukou!

Hiatari Ryoukou! (陽あたり良好！) blends comedy, romance and sports by Group TAC (1987). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. At its core: Kishimoto Kasumi, a 15-year-old girl, was supposed to live at her auntie's house in order to go to high school since April. However, when she moved to the house she was surprised with the fact that there were already four new male learners living in the same house.

As things develop, to make the matter worse, that day while she was taking a bath, Takasugi Yusaku, one of those boys, came into the bath and saw her naked. This is how Kasumi's troublesome high school days started.

With comedy at the core, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Voice work is led by Yumi Morio as Kasumi Kishimoto and Kazue Komiya as Chigusa Mizusawa. Think of it as a pick for viewers who want something light between heavier series. With 48 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Group TAC, so the studio's house style defines how Hiatari Ryoukou! looks and moves on screen. Because it leans on comedy, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. With a 6.7/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. On the casting side, Yumi Morio voicing Kasumi Kishimoto gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 1987, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
