Hellsing Ultimate

About Hellsing Ultimate

Hellsing Ultimate (HELLSING OVA) arrives as an action anime by MADHOUSE and Satelight (2006), and the premise is easy to summarize. At its core: Hellsing, a secret organization of the British government, has long been battling supernatural threats to keep the people safe from creatures of the night. The current leader, Integra Wingates Hellsing controls her own personal army to eliminate the undead beings, but even her highly trained soldiers pale in comparison to her most trusted vampire exterminator.

Another thread: Along with Integra's unexplained butler and Alucard's new vampire minion, Seras Victoria, The Hellsing Organization must face not only regular ghouls and vampires, but a rivaling concealed organization from the Vatican. A bloody battle between monsters is about to begin, the dead are dancing, and all hell is singing...

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Alucard (Jouji Nakata) and Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing (Kaori Mizuhashi) are two of the characters you will meet early. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. At 10 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

MADHOUSE and Satelight is the studio behind Hellsing Ultimate, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Viewers rate it 8.1/10, which signals strong word of mouth. Voice casting, including Jouji Nakata as Alucard, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2006, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
