Grendizer U

About Grendizer U

Here is what Grendizer U is about, retold in plain terms: an action, adventure and sci-fi anime by Gaina (2024). At its core: Duke Fleed is a survivor of the Fleed Planet who is escaped to the Earth, onboard an unexplained "spaceship", where is raised by Dr. Umon as his adoptive son, and known as Daisuke Umon.

Next up: Years after his arrival, he's faced with the threat of King Vega and his army, who want to conquer the Earth. With his companions Koji and Hikaru (and later his younger sister Maria Grace), Duke resolves to fight back using his best weapon - the almighty Grendizer.

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. If you count yourself among viewers who like fast, high-impact fights, put it on your list.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Gaina, so the studio's house style defines how Grendizer U looks and moves on screen. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 6.0/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. It aired in 2024, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
