OniAi

About OniAi

If you are hunting for a new comedy series, OniAi (お兄ちゃんだけど愛さえあれば関係ないよねっ) deserves a look (2012). The setup goes like this. At its core: Akiko is thrilled to be reuniting with Akito, the handsome older brother she hasn’t seen in years! In fact, she might be a little too excited.

From there, this pint-sized cutie has a big brother complex, and she’s not interested in sharing his attention. Unfortunately for little sister, she and Akito won’t be living alone: three gorgeous girls from the pupil council will be along for the ride!

In a comedy series like this, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Anastasia Nasuhara (Minori Chihara) and Akiko Himenokouji (Ibuki Kido) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who want something light between heavier series, put it on your list. The run is 12 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by SILVER LINK. and Nexus, so the studio's house style defines how OniAi looks and moves on screen. Because it leans on comedy, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. With a 6.0/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Minori Chihara as Anastasia Nasuhara, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. It aired in 2012, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
