About 11eyes

11eyes (イレブンアイズ) blends action, ecchi and supernatural by Doga Kobo (2009). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. The premise: When the sky turns red, the moon turns black, and monsters roam the streets, Satsuki Kakeru stumbles on himself involved in a dangerous situation and is transported into a different world. When he runs into four others in the same predicament, they band together to survive and to navigate this mysterious new world.

Also worth knowing: Things take a turn for the worse when six shadows appear with the intent of killing Kakeru and his allies.

With action at the core, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Voice work is led by Noriko Rikimaru as Kukuri Tachibana and Oma Ichimura as Yukiko Hirohara. This one is best suited to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. At 12 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Doga Kobo is the studio behind 11eyes, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Its 5.4/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. Voice casting, including Noriko Rikimaru as Kukuri Tachibana, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2009, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
