Comic Party Revolution OVA

About Comic Party Revolution OVA

Comic Party Revolution OVA (こみっくパーティーRevolution) blends comedy by Chaos Project (2003). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. The setup: A college student, Sendō Kazuki, happened to set foot in the doujinshi community. There, people are producing and selling doujinshi, which is the comic book drawn by fans rather than professional writers.

Along the way, at first he was reluctant, but as he met the girls earnest about producing doujinshi, he was gradually involved in creating it himself. This series is based on a Dreamcast/PC game, "Comic Party", and its setting is different from the TV series. The main characters, Kazuki, Taishi, and Mizuki are college pupils whereas they were high school learners in the TV series.

In a comedy series like this, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Kazuki Sendou (Masami Kikuchi) and Eimi Ooba (Shizuka Ishikawa) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who want something light between heavier series, put it on your list. With 4 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Chaos Project, so the studio's house style defines how Comic Party Revolution OVA looks and moves on screen. Within the comedy category, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Its 6.3/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. On the casting side, Masami Kikuchi voicing Kazuki Sendou gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2003, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
