GIRLS Bravo: second season

About GIRLS Bravo: second season

Meet GIRLS Bravo: second season (GIRLSブラボー second season), a comedy, ecchi and romance anime by AIC Spirits (2005). Here is the premise in a nutshell. The setup: Small for his age, Yukinari has been bullied and abused by girls all his life. Now in high school, he has developed a rare condition: whenever girls touch him, or even come close, he breaks out in hives.

Next up: Imagine his surprise, when he is all at once transported to the city of Seiren on a mystic realm invisibly orbiting the Earth, and populated with vast numbers of women and very few men. Fortunately, he has a new friend, Miharu-chan, whose touch inexplicably doesn't affect him.

With comedy at the core, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Voice work is led by Ayako Kawasumi as Miharu Sena Kanaka and Mamiko Noto as Yukinari Sasaki. This one is best suited to viewers who want something light between heavier series. At 13 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by AIC Spirits, so the studio's house style defines how GIRLS Bravo: second season looks and moves on screen. The comedy focus matters here: timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Its 6.0/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. On the casting side, Ayako Kawasumi voicing Miharu Sena Kanaka gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2005, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
