Kodomo no Jikan

About Kodomo no Jikan

Meet Kodomo no Jikan (こどものじかん), a comedy, drama and ecchi anime by Dream Force and diomedéa (2007). Here is the premise in a nutshell. The premise: 3rd grade teacher Aoki Daisuke didn't expect the first class he ever taught to be one of the toughest obstacles of his life. After getting off on the wrong foot with the entire class, a moment of kind-heartedness instantly convinces one of his students, Rin Kokonoe, to make the ill-fated Aoki-sensei her lover.

Next up: What exactly are Rin's intentions for wanting to actively seduce Aoki-sensei, and will Aoki-sensei be able to help her to deal with them?

With comedy at the core, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Voice work is led by Eri Kitamura as Rin Kokonoe and Kei Shindou as Kuro Kagami. Think of it as a pick for viewers who want something light between heavier series. The run is 12 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Dream Force and diomedéa, so the studio's house style defines how Kodomo no Jikan looks and moves on screen. The comedy focus matters here: timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. With a 6.2/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Eri Kitamura as Rin Kokonoe, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2007, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
