Grenadier: The Beautiful Warrior

About Grenadier: The Beautiful Warrior

Grenadier: The Beautiful Warrior (グレネーダー 〜ほほえみの閃士〜) blends action, adventure and comedy by Group TAC and Studio Live (2004). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. The setup: Rushuna is a blonde and very beautiful Senshi (gun expert) that travels through the realm with one purpose. Which is to make the world a peaceful place by, instead of fighting with weapons, taking away the people's will to fight by giving them a smile.

More of the story: Although she doesn't want to fight, she is forced to, and shows amazing gun skills. In this quest she crosses paths with Yajirou, a mercenary that uses a sword to struggle and joins her on her journey.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Tenshi (Chieko Honda) and Yajirou Kojima (Kazuya Nakai) are two of the characters you will meet early. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. With 12 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Group TAC and Studio Live, so the studio's house style defines how Grenadier: The Beautiful Warrior looks and moves on screen. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 6.3/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. On the casting side, Chieko Honda voicing Tenshi gives the lead role a recognizable voice. It aired in 2004, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
