Queen Emeraldas

About Queen Emeraldas

Queen Emeraldas (クィーン・エメラルダス) blends action, adventure and sci-fi by OLM (1998). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. In short: The story revolves around a race that seeks to dominate the galaxy. A lone unexplained female warrior, known to others as Emeraldas sails the endless planets of the universe- in her Seas of Star ship- fighting the tyranny of that merciless race.

From there, she is tormented by the memory of her lost love.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Voice work is led by Makio Inoue as Captain Harlock and Kouichi Yamadera as Tochiro Ooyama. It will appeal most to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. The run is 4 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with OLM, which means the visual identity of Queen Emeraldas follows that studio's craft. Within the action category, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 6.6/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Makio Inoue as Captain Harlock, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. It aired in 1998, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
