OniAi

About OniAi

If you are hunting for a new comedy series, OniAi (お兄ちゃんだけど愛さえあれば関係ないよねっ) deserves a look (2012). The setup goes like this. What the story covers: Akiko is thrilled to be reuniting with Akito, the handsome older brother she hasn’t seen in years! In fact, she might be a little too excited.

Along the way, this pint-sized cutie has a big brother complex, and she’s not interested in sharing his attention. Unfortunately for little sister, she and Akito won’t be living alone: three gorgeous girls from the pupil council will be along for the ride!

In a comedy series like this, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Anastasia Nasuhara (Minori Chihara) and Akiko Himenokouji (Ibuki Kido) are two of the characters you will meet early. Think of it as a pick for viewers who want something light between heavier series. With 12 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with SILVER LINK. and Nexus, which means the visual identity of OniAi follows that studio's craft. The comedy focus matters here: timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Its 6.0/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. On the casting side, Minori Chihara voicing Anastasia Nasuhara gives the lead role a recognizable voice. It aired in 2012, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
