Moetan

About Moetan

Moetan (もえたん) blends comedy, ecchi and mahou shoujo by Actas (2007). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. The setup: Ink Nijihara is a girl in high school. Unfortunately her crush Nao Tezuka barely recognizes her.

From there, to make matters worse, she is very short. Now Ink meets a duck and grows into a "mahou shoujo" and teaches Nao english in disguise.

In a comedy series like this, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Ink Nijihara (Yukari Tamura) and Ah-kun (Masaya Onosaka) are two of the characters you will meet early. It will appeal most to viewers who want something light between heavier series. With 11 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Actas, so the studio's house style defines how Moetan looks and moves on screen. The comedy focus matters here: timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Its 6.1/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. On the casting side, Yukari Tamura voicing Ink Nijihara gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2007, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
