Rin-ne 2

About Rin-ne 2

Meet Rin-ne 2 (境界のRinne ２), a comedy, romance and supernatural anime by Brain's Base (2016). Here is the premise in a nutshell. At its core: The shinigami Rinne Rokudou, and Sakura Mamiya, the girl who can see ghosts, attend the same school. The two spend their days solving the worries of spirits.

Next up: Rinne is so poor that he is forced to borrow money from Sakura to buy shinigami tools to solve their cases. Rinne and Sakura care for each other, but their relationship is not progressing. However, with the appearance of a new contracted black cat, a beautiful damashigami, and a person with whom Rinne shares a special circumstance, the situation becomes even more chaotic!

As a comedy title, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Sakura Mamiya (Marina Inoue) and Rinne Rokudou (Kaito Ishikawa) are two of the characters you will meet early. This one is best suited to viewers who want something light between heavier series. With 25 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with Brain's Base, which means the visual identity of Rin-ne 2 follows that studio's craft. The comedy focus matters here: timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Its 6.8/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre.
