Cutey Honey F

About Cutey Honey F

Here is what Cutey Honey F (キューティーハニーＦ) is about, retold in plain terms: an action, adventure and comedy anime by Toei Animation (1997). In short: On her sixteenth birthday, Honey Kisaragi goes to meet her father. However, he shows up injured and on the run.

Beyond that: Out of nowhere, a group of thugs and a monster show up. A detective, Seiji Hayama, rescues Honey and her father. Unfortunately, the monster captures Honey`s father.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Voice work is led by Ai Nagano as Honey Kisaragi and Makiko Oomoto as Natsuko Aki. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. The run is 39 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with Toei Animation, which means the visual identity of Cutey Honey F follows that studio's craft. Because it leans on action, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Its 6.5/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. Voice casting, including Ai Nagano as Honey Kisaragi, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 1997, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
