THE NEW GATE

About THE NEW GATE

THE NEW GATE arrives as an action anime by CLOUDHEARTS (2024), and the premise is easy to summarize. At its core: When an online game turns real, trapping its players in its virtual space, the strongest of them, Shin, rises up to put a stop to the madness. But just moments after defeating the game’s final boss, Origin, and freeing everyone, Shin is transported 500 years into the future of the in-game world.

Beyond that: Armed with unrivaled strength, the young swordsman embarks on a legendary journey.

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Shinya Kiritani (Kenshou Ono) and Schnee Raizar (Asami Seto) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who like fast, high-impact fights, put it on your list. The run is 12 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.
