About God Bless Dancougar

God Bless Dancougar (超獣機神ダンクーガ ゴッド・ブレス・ダンクーガ) arrives as an action anime by Ashi Productions (1987), and the premise is easy to summarize. What the story covers: After destroying the Zorbados Empire, the Jyusenki-tai/Cyber Beast Force has expanded and are training new recruits. But after failing to stop a monster that seems to be a remnant of the Zorbados Empire from destroying a city, the CBF is thrown in jail.

Along the way, now the CBF have to escape from jail and find out what was behind the monster they fought.

This one is best suited to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. The run is 1 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Ashi Productions, so the studio's house style defines how God Bless Dancougar looks and moves on screen. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 6.4/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. On the casting side, Kazuki Yao voicing Shinobu Fujiwara gives the lead role a recognizable voice. It aired in 1987, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
