Boku no Imouto wa "Osaka Okan"

About Boku no Imouto wa "Osaka Okan"

Here is what Boku no Imouto wa "Osaka Okan" (僕の妹は「大阪おかん」) is about, retold in plain terms: a comedy anime (2012). At its core: Kyousuke's younger sister Namika has been living apart from him for ten years. One day, she returns and kicks off to live with him again, but she has turned into an energetic Osaka girl.

With comedy at the core, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Kyousuke Ishihara (Ryouko Shiraishi) and Namika Ishihara (Kana Asumi) are two of the characters you will meet early.

Think of it as a pick for viewers who want something light between heavier series. With 12 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Within the comedy category, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Its 5.2/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. Voice casting, including Ryouko Shiraishi as Kyousuke Ishihara, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2012, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
