Magi: The Kingdom of Magic

About Magi: The Kingdom of Magic

Meet Magi: The Kingdom of Magic (マギ The kingdom of magic), an action, adventure and fantasy anime by A-1 Pictures (2013). Here is the premise in a nutshell. The setup: After celebrating their victory against Al-Thamen, Aladdin and his friends depart the land of Sindria. With the end of the fight, however, comes the time for each of them to go their separate ways.

Also worth knowing: Hakuryuu and Kougyoku are ordered to go back to their home country, the Kou Empire. Meanwhile Aladdin announces he needs to head for Magnostadt—an unexplained country ruled by magicians—to investigate the unexplained events occurring in this new kingdom and become more proficient in magic. For their part, encouraged by Aladdin's words, Alibaba and Morgiana also set off in pursuit of their own goals: training and going to her homeland, respectively.

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Aladdin (Kaori Ishihara) and Alibaba Saluja (Yuuki Kaji) are two of the characters you will meet early. This one is best suited to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. The run is 25 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.
