Tribe Nine

About Tribe Nine

Tribe Nine (トライブナイン) blends action, sci-fi and sports by LIDENFILMS and Akatsuki (2022). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. In short: In Neo Tokyo, disillusioned youth form tribes that battle each other in an intense game called Extreme Baseball. One night, two kids – Haru Shirogane and Taiga – meet the strongest XB Player Shun Kamiya.

Beyond that: Haru and Taiga join Shun's group, the Minato Tribe, to play this cutthroat game against an enigmatic man who has begun taking control of all the tribes. Can they defeat him before it’s too late?

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Narrator (Hiroshi Naka) and Kazuki Aoyama (Shouya Chiba) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who like fast, high-impact fights, put it on your list. With 12 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

LIDENFILMS and Akatsuki is the studio behind Tribe Nine, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 5.6/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Hiroshi Naka as Narrator, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. It aired in 2022, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
