My Senpai is Annoying

About My Senpai is Annoying

Here is what My Senpai is Annoying (先輩がうざい後輩の話) is about, retold in plain terms: a comedy, romance and slice of life anime by Doga Kobo (2021). The setup: Being seen as a full-fledged business woman isn’t easy for Futaba Igarashi when her senpai, Harumi, treats her like a kid. Days for her are never typical, at work or outside of it, with all the antics going on in her life.

Further in, as mishaps ensue, she’ll find herself growing closer with her loudmouth senpai. Maybe Futaba feels more than she lets on, but one thing’s for sure: she’s still annoyed!

As a comedy title, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Futaba Igarashi (Tomori Kusunoki) and Touko Sakurai (Saori Hayami) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who want something light between heavier series, put it on your list. With 12 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.
