Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga

About Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga

Looking for background on Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga (織田シナモン信長)? This comedy and slice of life series by Studio Signpost and Studio Pierrot (2020) starts out like this. At its core: The Warring States Period is a time of feuding warlords. Oda Nobunaga, the greatest of them all, is reborn in modern-day Japan... as a shiba-inu!

As things develop, the other generals of the era, too, have also inexplicably been reborn as dogs. Their warring states rivalry will resume at the dog park!

With comedy at the core, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Voice work is led by Kenyuu Horiuchi as Cinnamon and Toshio Furukawa as Buu. If you count yourself among viewers who want something light between heavier series, put it on your list. With 12 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Studio Signpost and Studio Pierrot is the studio behind Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The comedy focus matters here: timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Its 6.0/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. On the casting side, Kenyuu Horiuchi voicing Cinnamon gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2020, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
