The Magnificent KOTOBUKI

About The Magnificent KOTOBUKI

Looking for background on The Magnificent KOTOBUKI (荒野のコトブキ飛行隊)? This action and adventure series by Digital Frontier (2019) starts out like this. At its core: The story takes place in a barren frontier where people trade goods with each other in order to help each other survive. The Kotobuki Squadron are bodyguards for hire, led by a strict but beautiful squadron leader, an unreliable commanding officer, and a true artisan of a crew chief.

Beyond that: Alongside pilots who don't lack for personality, they take to the air in dogfights, letting the engine noise of their Hayabusa fighters ring out in the skies.

With action at the core, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Kirie (Sayumi Suzushiro) and Reona (Asami Seto) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who like fast, high-impact fights, put it on your list. At 12 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.
