Tamayura: Hitotose

About Tamayura: Hitotose

Tamayura: Hitotose (たまゆら～hitotose～) blends comedy and slice of life by TYO Animations (2011). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. At its core: As a little girl, Fuu Sawatari’s father taught her to love photography. They took pictures everywhere they went.

From there, after he passed away, seeing those photographs only served as a reminder of her loss, so she locked them away to be forgotten. Years later, her brother Kou comes across their father’s picture album, and as he flips through its pages, the pictures remind Fuu of all the happy memories of her father that she will carry with her forever. Now, as the shy Fuu enters her first year of high school, she once again takes up her father’s old camera, determined to take wonderful pictures that will bring joy and happiness to others.

With comedy at the core, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Fuu Sawatari (Ayana Taketatsu) and Kaoru Hanawa (Kana Asumi) are two of the characters you will meet early. It will appeal most to viewers who want something light between heavier series. The run is 12 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.
