Jagainu-kun

About Jagainu-kun

Jagainu-kun (じゃがいぬくん) blends adventure, fantasy and slice of life by Studio Egg (2004). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. The premise: Known in Japan as Jagainu-kun, Dogtato is the heartwarming tale of a dog that`s really a potato...or a potato that`s really a dog. Or something. (Jagaimo = potato, inu = dog, thus the name Jagainu/Dogtato.

Another thread: Dogtato`s world is full of his lovable half-veggie, half-animal allies who are always getting into wacky hijinks and misadventures.

As an adventure title, exploration, new locations and a steady sense of momentum drive the story. Voice work is led by Shinobu Adachi as Jagainu-kun and Mitsuyo Kondo as ChoCho. If you count yourself among anyone who enjoys travel-the-world storytelling, put it on your list. With 26 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.
