Ringing Fate

About Ringing Fate

Meet Ringing Fate (命运拳台), an action, drama and mecha anime by MOJO and Kung Fu Frog Animation (2023). Here is the premise in a nutshell. The setup: A Gan is seriously ill, and falls into a world called "Kong" at the moment of dying. Here, people can drive mechas to struggle in the ring of fate, and the winner could get a chance to live again.

Beyond that: By coincidence, A Gan partners with Zhang San, an evil mecha with a soul, and begins her adventure in "Kong".

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. San Zhang (Yuuichirou Umehara) and Gan A (Kana Hanazawa) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who like fast, high-impact fights, put it on your list. At 12 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with MOJO and Kung Fu Frog Animation, which means the visual identity of Ringing Fate follows that studio's craft. Within the action category, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 6.9/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Yuuichirou Umehara as San Zhang, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. It aired in 2023, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
