About Overlord II

Here is what Overlord II (オーバーロードⅡ) is about, retold in plain terms: an action, adventure and fantasy anime by MADHOUSE (2018). The setup: Continuing his quest to rule this new world, Ains starts to put the pieces in place for his conquest. But between a Lizard Man tribe uprising, and performing missions as adamantite adventurer Lord Momon, Ains has his work cut out for him!

Also worth knowing: Thankfully he has his most loyal and willing subordinates to do his bidding. Nothing and no one can stop the supreme and mighty Overlord in his quest to rule all!

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Voice work is led by Satoshi Hino as Momonga and Sumire Uesaka as Shalltear Bloodfallen. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. The run is 13 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by MADHOUSE, so the studio's house style defines how Overlord II looks and moves on screen. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. A 7.6/10 score points to a dependable, well-liked series. Voice casting, including Satoshi Hino as Momonga, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2018, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
