Utakoi

About Utakoi

Utakoi (超訳百人一首 うた恋い。) blends comedy and romance by TYO Animations (2012). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. The setup: Uta Koi tells the "super-liberal interpretation" of the Hyakuninisshu anthology compiled during Japan's Heian period of 100 romantic poems from 100 different poets such as The Tale of Genji's Murasaki Shikibu.

In a comedy series like this, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Sadaie Fujiwara no (Yuuki Kaji) and Takaiko Fujiwara no (Saori Hayami) are two of the characters you will meet early.

This one is best suited to viewers who want something light between heavier series. At 13 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.
