Eren the Southpaw

About Eren the Southpaw

Eren the Southpaw (左ききのエレン) arrives as a drama anime by Signal.MD and Production I.G (2026), and the premise is easy to summarize. What the story covers: As high school reaches its midpoint, Koichi Asakura—who dreams of studying design at art school—has his plans shaken by explosive graffiti on a museum wall. The artist is Eren Yamagishi, a left-handed girl who buried her talent after a past incident.

Another thread: Drawn together by art, Koichi pursues design as Eren returns to painting, but fear, ambition, and old scars threaten their paths.

In a drama series like this, character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. Voice work is led by Yumi Uchiyama as Eren Yamagishi and Shouya Chiba as Kouichi Asakura. If you count yourself among viewers who prefer story and feelings over flashy action, put it on your list. With 13 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with Signal.MD and Production I.G, which means the visual identity of Eren the Southpaw follows that studio's craft. Within the drama category, character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. With a 5.9/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Yumi Uchiyama as Eren Yamagishi, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. It aired in 2026, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
