Hyakki Yakoushou

About Hyakki Yakoushou

Hyakki Yakoushou (百鬼夜行抄) arrives as a horror anime by Imageworks Studio (2026), and the premise is easy to summarize. At its core: Ritsu inherited his sixth sense from his grandfather, along with a demon guardian named Blue Storm. Peculiar things just seem to happen around these two, and it's left to them to get to the bottom of all these unexplained events.

Another thread: Each story is independent but features recurring characters you'll come to know and appreciate as they, each in their own way, try to deal with things 'not of this world'.

With horror at the core, atmosphere, sound and restraint do the heavy lifting. Voice work is led by Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ritsu Iijima and Ikumi Hasegawa as Tsukasa Iijima. Think of it as a pick for viewers comfortable with dark, unsettling material. At 12 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.
