Fantastic Children

About Fantastic Children

Looking for background on Fantastic Children (ファンタジックチルドレン)? This adventure, drama and fantasy series by Nippon Animation (2004) starts out like this. What the story covers: A group of enigmatic white-haired children has been spotted at different times and places in Europe for over 500 years. Always with the appearance of 11-year-olds, they behave far more mature than they should be, never grow old, and seem to have supernatural power.

Another thread: What they have been seeking is a girl, and the only clue they have is a picture with a crescent moon. Now, in the year of 2012, an athletic boy named Tohma is about to be involved in this centuries-long mystery.

In an adventure series like this, exploration, new locations and a steady sense of momentum drive the story. Agi (Yuu Urata) and Dumas (Eiji Hanawa) are two of the characters you will meet early. Think of it as a pick for anyone who enjoys travel-the-world storytelling. With 26 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Nippon Animation, so the studio's house style defines how Fantastic Children looks and moves on screen. The adventure focus matters here: exploration, new locations and a steady sense of momentum drive the story. A 7.3/10 score points to a dependable, well-liked series. Voice casting, including Yuu Urata as Agi, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2004, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
