Princess Resurrection Special

About Princess Resurrection Special

Princess Resurrection Special (怪物王女：昏睡王女) blends comedy, horror and supernatural by MADHOUSE (2008). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. What the story covers: Flandre has gone missing within the mansion and Reiri, Riza, Hiro, and Hime have been left without any of their powers. They fast deduce they’re in a nightmare after exposing an illusion by setting a curtain ablaze.

Further in, they have to work to find their way out of the nightmare while facing tough opponents.

In a comedy series like this, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Voice work is led by Ayako Kawasumi as Liliane and Shiho Kawaragi as Flandre. This one is best suited to viewers who want something light between heavier series. At 1 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with MADHOUSE, which means the visual identity of Princess Resurrection Special follows that studio's craft. Because it leans on comedy, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Its 6.6/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. Voice casting, including Ayako Kawasumi as Liliane, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2008, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
