Paris no Isabelle

About Paris no Isabelle

Paris no Isabelle (巴里のイザベル) arrives as a drama anime (1979), and the premise is easy to summarize. In short: In France, during the 19th century, 15-year-old Isabelle Laustin, a noblewoman, officially enters the world of the aristocracy at a ball in Versailles. But shortly after, the French army is defeated at Sedan, and Isabelle and her family have to leave their mansion to take refuge in Paris, where they will take an active part in the fight against the Prussians.

In a drama series like this, character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. Narrator (Mihoko Inagaki) and Leon Laustin (Mahito Tsujimura) are two of the characters you will meet early.

Think of it as a pick for viewers who prefer story and feelings over flashy action. With 13 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.
