I''s

About I''s

I''s (フロム I"s アイズ 〜もうひとつの夏の物語〜) arrives as a drama anime by Studio Pierrot (2002), and the premise is easy to summarize. The premise: Aiming to become a molding artist, Itsuki, a childhood ally of Ichitaka who went to America come back to Japan. Iori who refused the idol path and started to pursue her ambition to become an actress instead.

More of the story: Ichitaka, wandering on his bicycle alone, tries to decide his choice between the two persons.

In a drama series like this, character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. Voice work is led by Kumi Sakuma as Iori Yoshizuki and Takahiro Sakurai as Ichitaka Seto. Think of it as a pick for viewers who prefer story and feelings over flashy action. With 2 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with Studio Pierrot, which means the visual identity of I''s follows that studio's craft. The drama focus matters here: character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. With a 5.5/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. On the casting side, Kumi Sakuma voicing Iori Yoshizuki gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2002, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
