Marmalade Boy

About Marmalade Boy

Here is what Marmalade Boy (ママレード・ボーイ) is about, retold in plain terms: a comedy, drama and romance anime by Toei Animation (1994). In short: Miki Koishikawa lived a normal life - until her parents tell her they'll get divorced.. She doesn't agree, until she runs into Yuu Matsuura... the handsome son of another couple, with whom her parents are switching spouses.

Further in, they all live together now in an enormous house, and Miki and Yuu find themselves falling in love. They'll have to struggle with their own feelings, other people who want to be with them, and whatever Lady Luck and Fate throws in their ways...

As a comedy title, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Voice work is led by Ryoutarou Okiayu as Yuu Matsura and Mariko Kouda as Miki Koishikawa. This one is best suited to viewers who want something light between heavier series. With 76 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.
