Galaxy Fraulein Yuna

About Galaxy Fraulein Yuna

Meet Galaxy Fraulein Yuna (銀河お嬢様伝説ユナ ～哀しみのセイレーン～), an action, adventure and comedy anime by Animate Film (1995). Here is the premise in a nutshell. In short: Yuna Kagurazaka won the interstellar Galaxy Fraulein contest to become the Guardian of the Light. After defeating several threats to galactic peace (As seen in the PC Engine games), old adversaries have framed Yuna for attacking and demolishing her hometown.

Also worth knowing: Yuna's companions now needs to attempt to rescue her from her pending execution, with comedic results.

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Yuna Kagurazaka (Chisa Yokoyama) and Yuri Cube (Miki Takahashi) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who like fast, high-impact fights, put it on your list. At 2 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Animate Film, so the studio's house style defines how Galaxy Fraulein Yuna looks and moves on screen. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 5.9/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Chisa Yokoyama as Yuna Kagurazaka, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 1995, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
