Karasu Tengu Kabuto

About Karasu Tengu Kabuto

Karasu Tengu Kabuto blends action, adventure and drama by unknown (1990). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. In short: 500 years ago in the Tensho Era of Japan, a man was born who defied the will of a demon; a man who had gods of good on his side; a man destined to fight evil....his name was Kabuto. Somehow, Kuroyasya Douki, the vile Black Night Demon, escaped his prison in hell and returned to the earthly plane to wreak vengeance on the family-line of Kabuto.

Beyond that: None can escape his deadly magic and masterful skills with the blade; however, the gods of the North, West, East, and South band together to help Kabuto stand for Justice. With the questionable help of a diabolical talking sword that his own father forged, Kabuto may live another day to see his own sons born....

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. If you count yourself among viewers who like fast, high-impact fights, put it on your list.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with unknown, which means the visual identity of Karasu Tengu Kabuto follows that studio's craft. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Its 6.5/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. Released in 1990, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
