KAIJU GIRLS

About KAIJU GIRLS

Here is what KAIJU GIRLS (Kaijuu Girls: Ultra Kaijuu Gijinka Keikaku) is about, retold in plain terms: a fantasy, comedy and parody anime by Studio PuYUKAI (2016). In short: Humanity's clash of many years with the kaiju, giant monsters, has finally come to an end. Now that Earth has entered an age of peace, girls with the souls of kaiju have begun to appear, giving them the ability to transform into kaiju.

From there, they are known as the Kaiju Girls, and this is the powerful, transient, beautiful, and at times easygoing story of the strange fate these girls bear.

As a fantasy title, world-building, magic systems and creature design set the tone. If you count yourself among fans of magic, kingdoms and invented worlds, put it on your list.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with Studio PuYUKAI, which means the visual identity of KAIJU GIRLS follows that studio's craft. The fantasy focus matters here: world-building, magic systems and creature design set the tone. With a 6.0/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. It aired in 2016, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
