A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd

About A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd

Meet A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd (大図書館の羊飼い), a comedy and romance anime by Hoods Entertainment and Felix Film (2014). Here is the premise in a nutshell. In short: The story is set at Shiomi Academy, a vast, prestigious academy with a Daitoshokan (literally, "great library") that rivals Japan's national library. As a member of the Library Club, Kyoutarou Kakei goes to Daitoshokan to enjoy reading by himself.

As things develop, he then meets a second-year girl named Tsugumi Shirasaki through the efforts of a so-called "shepherd" who fulfills people's wishes. Eventually, more girls join the club thanks to the "shepherd."

As a comedy title, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Voice work is led by Junji Majima as Kyoutarou Kakei and Atsumi Tanezaki as Nagi Kodachi. This one is best suited to viewers who want something light between heavier series. At 12 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.
