Di Gi Charat Tsuyu Specials

About Di Gi Charat Tsuyu Specials

Here is what Di Gi Charat Tsuyu Specials is about, retold in plain terms: a comedy anime by Madhouse (2001). In short: Di Gi Charat (call her Dejiko for short) and Petit Charat (the cute little charat) come down to Earth, where they want to be idols, or something like that. Rabi~en~Rose (a random girl with bunny ears) decides they're in her way of becoming an idol herself.

Along the way, they all end up working at Gamers, where various otaku, children, and humanoid fingers walk in and act like morons. Contains: Gema no Sumika Tsusode shiu Engekidan (ii ne!)

In a comedy series like this, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. If you count yourself among viewers who want something light between heavier series, put it on your list.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Madhouse, so the studio's house style defines how Di Gi Charat Tsuyu Specials looks and moves on screen. The comedy focus matters here: timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. With a 6.5/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Released in 2001, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
