PLUTO

About PLUTO

Meet PLUTO, an action, drama and mecha anime by Studio M2 (2023). Here is the premise in a nutshell. In short: A murder occurs in an orderly world where robots are unable to kill humans. The robotic Europol investigator Gesicht takes the case, but the mystery deepens when he comes across no trace of a human at the scene of the crime.

From there, as he pursues the truth, Gesicht uncovers the most evil manifestation of hate that history has ever seen, one that is bent on bringing destruction to the world ...

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Kuroo Hazama (Akio Ootsuka) and Gesicht (Shinshuu Fuji) are two of the characters you will meet early. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. The run is 8 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Studio M2, so the studio's house style defines how PLUTO looks and moves on screen. Within the action category, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Viewers rate it 8.4/10, which signals strong word of mouth. On the casting side, Akio Ootsuka voicing Kuroo Hazama gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2023, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
